Emma Britton x Duchess China
Emma Britton is an award-winning designer and founder of Emma Britton Decorative Glass Designer, an independent studio specialising in decorative glass splashbacks and homewares. Her work is known for its floral designs inspired by British flora and fauna, often incorporating vibrant colors and patterns onto glass.
Duchess China is a British manufacturer of fine bone china, established in 1888. Duchess is known for its tableware and teaware. They are one of the few remaining historic fine bone china producers in the UK, with a focus on both traditional and modern designs, as well as bespoke products.
I was thrilled when they got in touch and asked me to photograph their new collaboration of tableware which uses a pattern from the original pattern books from the Duchess archive. I visited the Duchess factory, the Gladstone Potteries and Emma’s studio and over 2 days we captured the making process and a series of lifestyle photography ready for launch.
